Family law

Prior to joining the Bar, Yaa Dankwa worked as a legal advisor for the Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC). CCLC provides free legal information, advice and representation to children, young people, their families, carers and professionals. Yaa Dankwa has experience of family law surrounding cases involving the Children Act as a result of her position with the CCLC and is looking to use that experience to support the development of her career as a specialist family law barrister.

Yaa Dankwa is an experienced civil practitioner, having appeared successfully in several hearings whilst working at a national court advocacy service. She is highly adept in dealing with a wide range of civil and commercial cases, with an emphasis on the following:

Yaa Dankwa is passionate about helping her clients find the best possible solutions to their family related problems and will often ‘go the extra mile’ to achieve this. She is a personable and approachable individual, often commended for her ability to put lay clients at ease, and to instil absolute confidence and trust in those instructing her. She is particularly skilled in assisting nervous clients and litigants in person.

Yaa Dankwa is dual qualified and a member of the Ghana Bar Association.

Yaa Dankwa works in London and the South East but is willing to travel.
