Amy Sloan-McCann is a highly acclaimed Barrister operating a professional and highly skilled practice of commended specialism in Civil Law, Chancery and Commercial Chancery Law.

Amy’s primary interest is Chancery Law. Amy has a wealth of experience of traditional Chancery matters and Commercial Chancery matters. As a practicing Commercial Chancery Barrister, Amy has been involved in matters of company law, including shareholder cases, partnership agreements, insolvency and fraud matters. Amy’s commercial clients have included Transport for London in a Compulsory Purchase Compensation case (‘Spirerose Case’) and Mahiki Mayfair Ltd where Amy assisted Counsel as a Junior in settling a Partnership Dispute by way of mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Amy is regularly instructed in Employment, Family and Immigration matters.

As regards Employment Law, Amy has represented both Appellant and Respondent in complicated cases involving unfair and constructive dismissal.

In Family Law, Amy has successfully represented Applicant’s at the High Court for cases relating to Forced Marriage matters. Amy has also successful represented and negotiated Child Contact Orders, Divorce Settlement Orders and further specialises in Child Care Agreements, the drafting of, and disputes arising from.

The experience Amy holds in Immigration Law is considerable; having represented both Appellant and having held a full time contract with the Home Office. Amy is extremely proficient in Appeals, Deportation and Judicial Review.

Amy accepts instruction on professional negligence and personal injury matters. In the latter respect, Amy regularly represents both Lay clients and Professional Clients, including Commercial Company Clients in personal injury disputes. Amy also held a full time contract with the National Health Service and is currently a Barrister of interest to the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Amy is one of the leading specialist Barristers in the area of academic and professional examination awarding body appeals, representing domestic and international clients at various academic and professional stages of their careers in their internal University Academic Appeals, professional qualification and examination appeals, OIA complaints/appeals against Universities and other Professional Examination Awarding Bodies.
