I am able to provide legal advice and opinion, draft documents for court or other tribunals, draft correspondence and represent clients as counsel in court proceedings, arbitrations and mediations under the Public Direct Access scheme.
I have also acted on numerous occassions as a party representative in adjudications by drafting the notice of adjudication, drafting the referrral and drafting other submissions. I also defend against adjudications where ciients have received a notice of adjudication. I am also able to enforce adjudications in the Technology and Construction Court.
I am also a panel adjudicator and an accredited mediator.
In addition to being a barrister I have a background as a multi-qualified construction professional with over 35 years’ construction industry experience. I am a chartered surveyor, chartered construction manager and project management professional. I possess in-depth knowledge and practical experience of construction cost and project management, having worked for national/international construction companies and consultancies on projects including:
roads and other infrastructure, power stations, prison, defence, industrial, commercial office, retail, leisure, Olympic sports, education, private and social housing projects.

Conferences, Seminars and Workshops:
I have presented at national conferences, solicitor events, training seminars, plus lectures and presentations to students at a number of universities and for professional bodies in the UK and internationally. I have also facilitated numerous workshops for collaborative contracts.
My fees are charged at the hourly rate of £300 per hour for construction, engineering, energy and building disputes and £250 per hour for Employment and other civil work. Where possible, I will provide a fixed fee which is to be paid in advance. For more complex or larger cases, it may not be possible to estimate the time required and so fees will be charged at the hourly rate. In cases where work is to be undertaken in stages, fixed stage payments will be agreed, wherever possible, or a mixture of fixed and hourly billed fees.
An initial meeting (conference) will cost a fixed fee starting from £750 paid in advance for up to three hours. If there is a large amount of documentation to review, or a longer conference is required, a higher fee may be quoted. There is no VAT to add.
