Tom is a barrister at Ropewalk Chambers, an award-winning chambers based in Nottingham.

He has a particular interest in (1) personal injury, clinical negligence and industrial disease cases; (2) costs litigation; (3) property, construction and other commercial disputes; and (4) local government matters including education law and special educational needs.

advice and successful representation at an appeal on a procedural point relating to 'relief from sanctions' under the Civil Procedure Rules;

representing the deceased’s family at a four-day jury inquest following a workplace accident;

successfully representing an employee at a three-day employment tribunal dealing with allegations of unfair dismissal and discrimination;

advising in relation to proceedings against a manufacturer following the settlement of a personal injury claim;

advising on a technical point as to the application of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013;

representing the judgment creditor in enforcement proceedings in the High Court; and

advising a local authority in relation to costs awards in special educational needs proceedings.
