Over the last 25 years I have worked in Criminal, Administrative, and Regulatory law.
From murder to the regulation of medicines, from firearms to fraud, company directors to political parties, and in more mundane but equally pressing legal matters, I have defended, advised and – if necessary – appealed. As well as being a natural jury advocate, I am particularly suited to cases of forensic or scientific complexity.

I have trained expert witness in the rigours of giving evidence, and trained other lawyers to become better advocates, or to take the Judge’s exams. I was senior lecturer in criminal law and advocacy at the University of Portsmouth for a number of years,

I have provided legal analysis and comment on television and published articles on new areas of law. I advised BBC’s Rough Justice programme on a (forensically unsafe) murder conviction, since overturned by the Court of Appeal. For Legal Network Television I was Legal Editor & Consultant on programmes on confiscation of the proceeds of crime; on computer crime; and on motoring offences.

I originally trained as an actor, and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, as well as working in TV and film. I am currently in discussion with a TV production company about a "chat show" centred on the law.
