Barry is a new breed of barrister qualified to advise and represent businesses and individuals in a broad range civil, family, employment, regulatory, inquest and criminal cases.

Barry's experience in the criminal courts includes the defence of individuals accused of public order and drugs offences, fraud, violence up to and including murder, as well as road traffic and regulatory offences, including prosecutions brought by local authorities for education and environmental protection offences. He has particular expertise in matters relating to the proceeds of crime, including confiscation and cash forfeiture, up to and including the Court of Appeal.

General civil
Barry's civil experience includes representing landlords and business owners in a wide range of county court matters, including property disputes following the dissolution of business and personal partnerships.

Barry has represented professionals before the whole range of disciplinary tribunals, including nurses, paramedics, solicitors, and other healthcare workers. Other experience includes defending the first ever prosecution of a podiatrist for misuse of professional title and the defence of solicitors and police officers before in criminal proceedings. He is currently an appointed a clerk to the barristers disciplinary tribunal.

As an experienced criminal and regulatory advocate, Barry is well placed and experienced in representing individuals in unfair dismissal claims based on disciplinary matters, and where there are concurrent criminal or professional disciplinary matters.

Barry is particularly experienced in the field of healthcare regulation and represents families and professionals who are party to inquests.
