ProfileI'm available to undertake cases in the magistrates' courts and the Crown Court. I cover all areas of general crime, including driving offences, dangerous dogs and animal welfare. I also do housing cases, on behalf of tenants.
I work hard to understand my clients, listen to their concerns and explain the law to them clearly and concisely. I love getting into the detail of a case and fighting my client's corner in court.
I'm based in London and travel to courts across southern England and the midlands. Travel further afield depends on securing childcare!
By way of personal history, I was called to the Bar in July 2015. I did my twelve-month pupillage at 4 Breams Buildings and became a tenant at 1MCB in August 2017.
Before becoming a barrister, I worked in great ape conservation and then the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), developing and implementing policy and programmes in Whitehall, Iraq and Afghanistan. My focus in DFID was conflict reduction and security and justice reform in developing countries. After leaving government, I managed a large aviation security and police training programme in Somaliland, on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
I studied Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, before studying for an MA in International Relations and Development Studies at the University of East Anglia and later an MSc in Security Sector Management at the UK Defence Academy / Cranfield University. I love studying...
I undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Bar Professional Training Course at City University, London. I've travelled a lot and speak and read a fair amount of Spanish and some Indonesian.
