Disputes Concerning Children
Laura regularly acts for both mums and dads in disputes over residence, contact, schooling, relocation and other issues concerning their children’s upbringing. She is experienced in acting in cases where safeguarding issues have been identified, such as substance misuse, mental health and domestic abuse and can assist if the court has ordered a report from Cafcass, a Fact Finding hearing or where a Guardian has been appointed. She understands that going to court is stressful and will guide you through the process sensitively, giving realistic advice on your case.

Financial Disputes (Divorce)
Laura has experience representing clients at all stages of financial proceedings, including where there are business or substantial property interests involved. She can help you prepare documents for the court, advise on offers and the evidence required if your case has to be resolved at a contested hearing. She can also advise you in relation to enforcement of consent orders where your ex-partner has not complied with the agreement that you reached.

Debt Recovery and Trader/Small Business Disputes
Laura has represented traders and small businesses seeking to recover unpaid invoices across a range of sectors including IT, construction and accounting/finance. She is able to get to grips with your business quickly whether you require some early advice on your claim or representation at court hearings. She also represents clients defending claims for unpaid invoices where the goods or services required were not of satisfactory quality. She can assist you in drafting a comprehensive well-structured defence to the claim and represent you at the trial.

Housing and Property Disputes
Laura has experience advising both landlords and tenants in disputes relating to rent arrears and potential breaches of the landlord’s legal and contractual duties. She will give you realistic advice on the merits of such claims and on the options for early settlement. Laura has also represented licensors and licensees in claims for alleged breaches of licence agreements, including in the agricultural sector.
