ProfileCatherine spent nearly 20 years working as a journalist, mostly on national newspapers, before she qualified as a barrister in 2010 and took up tenancy at Ely Place Chambers. After ten happy years there, in 2020 she moved to 42 Bedford Row, where she specialises mainly in employment work.
In the employment tribunal she is happy to act for both claimants and respondents, and has experience of a wide range of claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, interim relief, applications to decide employment status, and unpaid wages.
Catherine is also happy to take on other types of civil litigation including breach of contract or other commercial cases, landlord and tenant matters, and applications in the county court such as for strike out or summary judgment
Catherine finds her experience of working on newspapers helps her to explain legal and practical issues and concerns to lay clients in a straightforward, jargon-free manner. Catherine would hope to respond to any inquiry within 24 hours.
