About me:
After 35 years as a barrister I have built a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience. I use these to give a high quality of service to my clients whether they are private individuals, businesses or other organisations. I aim to provide legal services that are of the best quality and good value for money that is fair for the amount of work done.
I am hard working and do my utmost to get a satisfactory outcome for my clients. I am a firm believer in giving honest and straightforward advice so that clients understand their position from the outset. The areas of law I work in can be complex and procedurally daunting . I realise this and do my best to ensure my clients understand what to expect at each stage of their case. Many of my clients are dealing with distressing life events such as the sudden loss of a loved one. I believe it is important to show understanding and sensitivity at such difficult times.
My Areas of Practice:
I specialise in Inquest Law, and Regulatory Law, (professional registration and professional misconduct). I travel all around England and Wales to provide legal representation at inquests. I appear as a legal representative before fitness to practice panels and registration appeals panels of regulators such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Dental Council, Health Care Professions Council, and General Medical Council. I will travel to any of their hearing venues in England, or Wales.
My Client Base:
In inquest cases I have a diverse range of clients for public access instructions. I provide advice and representation to bereaved families, care homes, health care professionals and other interested persons. This can be pre-inquest advice on the key issues and likely scope of the inquest, representation at a Pre Inquest hearing and representation at the full inquest.
A large number of professionals who have qualified overseas instruct me directly to advise and assist with their applications for registration with a UK regulator or for their appeals when registration has been refused. UK registered professionals who have allowed their registration to lapse or were erased for misconduct or failing to revalidate instruct me on a direct access basis to help them get their registration restored. Nurses, dentist, doctors and other professionals seek direct advice and representation for professional misconduct issues. This ranges from assisting to draft a response to Case Examiners at the early stages of an investigation, representation at interim orders or review hearings and representation at a full fitness to practice hearing.
All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence without obligation. During the working week I aim to respond to all enquiries the same day ( if possible) or on the next working day.
