Jane is a family lawyer. She accepts instructions in private law disputes concerning divorce, finances and children on family break up. This involves representing husbands and wives, fathers, mothers and grandparents.
In all cases, Jane concentrates on resolving the issues favourably, without delay, stress and needless expense.

Family disputes are often highly charged and Jane deals with these cases with sensitivity and care, providing expert legal advice and practical support.

Jane's meetings with clients are highly effective. No time is wasted and certain progress is made. At court, Jane negotiates effectively on her clients behalf and robustly asserts their case.

Direct access means that the client remains in control, undertaking some of the work themselves and leaving the complex parts to Jane. That way her clients have a birds eye view of their case at all times.

Based in Huddersfield, Jane is a barrister with extensive experience of advocacy and legal casework.

Starting her career working from Broadway House Chambers, Jane's practice included private and public family law cases involving appearances at the High court and the Court of Appeal. Jane represented divorcing husbands and wives at financial hearings often involving complexities such as family businesses and companies.

Some years later she moved to the Crown Prosecution Service and was promoted to the role of Senior Crown Prosecutor where her casework involved close liaison with families affected by domestic violence.

Due to Jane's extensive legal knowledge and experience she was selected to work for the flagship service CPS Direct. Whilst there she was appointed Domestic Violence Co-ordinator and in her free time she undertook voluntary work advising victims of domestic violence at Kirklees Domestic Violence Forum.

When Jane was promoted to work at HMCPS Inspectorate nationally, she participated in joint inspections including the national rape review. She was an active member of both the editorial group for the national Safeguarding Children Report and the Bar Council Equality and Diversity Sub Committee.
Jane practices from Huddersfield Chambers and works exclusively in family law.
