Profile

Desiree Artesi has been acting as a Direct Access Barrister since barristers were first allowed to accept direct instructions. She is approachable, organised and able to assist litigants to find their way through the confusing world of the court system. She is happy to communicate online, by video conferencing, telephone and emails, but is equally happy to meet with clients face to face. Desiree can assist you with your property matter. For example if you have a business tenancy, residential, possession or leasehold/commonhold enfranchisement matter. Desiree also could assist in cases of arguments over shares in a property. She also specialises in administrative law challenges to public bodies. Desiree can assist in partnership disputes, general civil litigation, disputes with builders or contractual matters. In addition, she is always happy to look at an unusual case which falls outside the normal categories, and has extensive experience in dealing with cases involving more than two parties. She works either on a fixed fee or an hourly rate.

Reflections
Putting yourself in the shoes of the client
This is important to me and I always try to ensure that you the client understands what is happening with your case. When you instruct a barrister in addition to their intelligence and knowledge of the law, you want to know that you have someone representing you who cares and understands what you are going through. I care about my clients.

Succeeding against the odds
I came to the Bar as a black woman with a young family. I was offered a probationary tenancy before finally achieving tenancy. I know what it is like to fight, and win.
I regularly represent the underdog, and enjoy fighting hard for my clients.

Modern barrister
I work with all forms of technology and am happy to receive instructions by cloud, email as well as paper. I regularly hold conferences with clients by secure skype.
