I am a specialist in Court of Protection law (health and welfare matters: residence, care, medical treatment, contact, deprivation of liberty), and family law (care proceedings, private law disputes between parents, applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction, international child abduction). I also have expertise in the operation of the Mental Health Act 1983.

In the 2016 edition of the Chambers & Partners Bar Directory, colleagues and peers have said in relation to my Court of Protection work that I am "One of the go to senior juniors for Court of Protection work who has additional experience in community care proceedings. Peers are quick to praise his ability to bring a calming influence to intense situations and connect with clients on a personal level. He is valued for his expertise in mental health issues and is frequently instructed by the Official Solicitor. Strengths: He is a real pleasure to work with and makes everyone feel at ease. He has the ability to take the emotional charge out of situations and make people feel they are working towards a common goal, which is invaluable. He is meticulous in his preparation and provides clear written and oral advice. He is able to get to grips with the issues at great speed"

I am happy to offer written advice and advice in conference, and representation in court throughout England and Wales. I will assist with the preparation of statements and other documents, and I can make myself available at short notice when circumstances permit.
