Kate is an experienced criminal and common law practitioner with an unwavering commitment to client care and meticulous attention to detail across all aspects of her legal practice.

Kate is known for her approachability and personable manner whilst rigorously promoting her clients’ interests as an advocate and legal adviser.

Kate has practised criminal law for the last 10 years, successfully acting for both defendants and for the prosecution. She has extensive experience across all aspects of road traffic law and motoring offences.

Kate also specialises in data protection law, having advised numerous international charities and companies regarding all aspects of data protection law. She provides advice and representation for companies and private individuals on their rights and responsibilities under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, as well as in relation to criminal and civil investigations by the industry regulator (the ICO).

Kate provides training sessions across all areas of data protection law to assist companies and organisations with compliance and handling of data protection issues. She is available for both online and in-person training sessions.

Having worked extensively with a number of charitable organisations, advising on a wide array of legal issues, Kate is also able to advise across a range of common law matters.

What sort of work do I do?

Road Traffic
All aspects of road traffic and motoring law including:
- cases involving special reasons/exceptional hardship
- speeding and totting-up penalty points
- mobile phone offences
- disqualification due to excess alcohol/speeding
- careless driving
- driving without insurance
- failure to provide specimens

Data Protection Law
- Advising regarding compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
- Advising in respect of requests to exercise rights under data protection law, including subject access requests, the right to rectification and the right to erasure
- Advising in respect of personal data breaches and ICO enforcement action
- Drafting policies and privacy notices

General Common Law
- Contract drafting/reviews
- Residential and non-residential landlord and tenant, rights of way, boundary disputes, licences, nuisance, adverse possession, enfranchisement
