What sort of work do I do?

I have over 26 years of experience of working on criminal justice in fragile and conflict affected states. For most of my career I have served as a staff-member of international organisations, including over 19 years in the United Nations.
I have a strong grounding in international humanitarian law and international criminal law, having held senior legal positions in Chambers at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia from 2006 to 2015 and subsequently having had assignments in these fields for the UK Stabilisation Unit and as a consultant for other organisations. Throughout my career, international human rights law, in particular the ECHR, has been a major component of my work.
I have advised government bodies and NGOs on legislation, policy and individual cases in various states including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, Kosovo, Mali, Palestine, Seychelles and Ukraine.
At the moment I am engaged by Expertise France to provide advice on international crimes to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and I am Co-Counsel for a defendant at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

Who do I work for?

I accept instructions from non-governmental organisations and government bodies as well as defendants/applicants before international/internationalised criminal tribunals.
