Area of Law
Banking and Financial Services
I have a busy banking and finance practice, where I regularly act both for and against banks. My work is recognised in the industry where I am ranked as a Rising Star in this field (Legal 500 - 2023 edition). I also draw upon my experience of having previously worked at the Financial Conduct Authority.
Commercial
I practise across the full spectrum of commercial disputes. In this field, I have appeared in the Court of Appeal, the High Court (including as sole counsel against King's Counsel in the Commercial Court), and the County Court. I publish regularly on commercial law issues, and previously taught contract law at Durham University.
Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure
Construction disputes form a core area of my practice. I have experience in a range of construction and engineering matters from high-value cross-border disputes to residential building disputes. I also have experience in adjudication and sit on the panel of TECBAR adjudicators.
I co-author the chapter on exclusion clauses and limitations of liability in Wilmot-Smith KC on Construction Contracts, where I focus in particular on the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
